As winter comes to an end and spring begins, there is something special about spending more time outdoors with our pets.
Longer days, warmer weather and lighter evenings give us more opportunities to enjoy the simple things that make our pets happy.
For many of us, these moments become part of the routines and memories we treasure most.

Make Time for Their Favourite Things
Spring is a great opportunity to slow down and enjoy the things your pet loves.
It might be an extra walk around their favourite spot, a trip to the beach, playing in the backyard, sitting outside in the sunshine, or simply spending a little longer together at home.
For older pets, these activities may look a little different. A slower walk, sitting down, or allowing them to explore at their own pace can still provide plenty of enjoyment.
Sometimes, it isn’t about doing something big. It is about making time for the little things.
Pay Attention to Changes
Changing seasons can be a good time to check in with your pet’s overall wellbeing.
Notice how they are moving, eating, sleeping and interacting with you. Small changes can sometimes be easy to overlook, particularly when they happen gradually.
If you have concerns about your pet’s comfort or quality of life, speaking with your regular veterinarian can help you understand what may be happening and what options are available.
Enjoy the Season Together
Our pets experience life through the everyday moments we share with them.
A walk in the sunshine. A favourite treat. A car ride with their head out the window. A quiet afternoon beside you. These moments can mean so much.
As spring arrives, take the opportunity to enjoy a little more time together and appreciate the companionship our pets bring into our lives.
From all of us at PAWS Newcastle, we hope you and your pets have a happy and healthy start to spring.
